Alatreon

ELEMENT: DRAGON/THUNDER/FIRE
WEAKNESS: DRAGON/ICE

Alatreon, sometimes referred to as the "Glittering Black Dragon" is a fierce elder dragon living in a volcano region called the Sacred Land. It is the final end-game boss online in Monster Hunter 3. It's elementally unstable, possessing control over the dragon, fire, thunder, and ice elements. When weakened, Alatreon will fly high into the air and rain down ice crystals. These ice crystals fall on random spots while some may target certain players. Alatreon will only use the ice and thunder elements while in the air. It is said that it has the abilities of all the True Elder Dragons (Kushala Daora, Chameleos, Lunastra and Teostra), although, since it is elementally unstable, it is unable to truly harness that power.
Alatreon does return in MHP3rd, with some new attacks, such as a double horn thrust, as well as better-harnessing his elemental control. Now he is able to call down Lightning to strike the hunter, much like the White Fatalis, both when on the ground or in the air. When he is about to perform this attack, his horns will glow blueish-white. His colors are also more pronounced when he is using the various elements. There are also violent storms around the Sacred Land area in MHP3rd.

  • Even if considered to master all elements (except for water), Alatreon never uses all of them at the same time. On the ground, Alatreon uses only dragon-element and fire-element attacks. When he turns into blue and spends most of his time in the air (see below), Alatreon uses ice-element and electric-element attacks, and if he falls on the ground, his common attacks (like his charge) will lose their usual effect (for example, charge won't inflict dragonblight anymore).
  • Unlike most of elder dragons in previous MH games, Alatreon won't flee after 25 minutes if he was damaged enough, and won't keep damages if you die. You must kill him in a single quest.
  • Alatreon is very vulnerable to paralysis and sleep. However, as an elder dragon, he never gets exhausted and hungry, and he isn't affected by any traps or meat.
  • Alatreon is weak to ice element (then thunder) when he is on the ground, and weak to dragon element (then fire) when hovering in the air. He is slightly weak to water, regardless of whether he is on the ground or in the air.
  • Front claws and both horns can be broken, wings can be damaged and tail can be severed for two extra carves.
    • Note that you have to break both horns if you want to get an additional quest reward (like skypiercer).
    • Unlike the elder dragons from previous MH games, tail can be severed at any time like usual monsters, but this won't affect Alatreon's power.
  • Alatreon doesn't have an aura like Kushala Daora or Teostra in previous MH games. However, he is able to muster his power and energy in his horns. On that moment, horns will be surrounded by little sparkles. After a few minutes, he will absorb those sparkles and turn into blue to hover around the area and start a thunder and icy rampage for some minutes. In this mode, it is very difficult to deal great damages to Alatreon, and moreover, he's more aggressive and more powerful. Breaking both horns or making him stagger by focusing on the head when horns are surrounded by sparkles will prevent Alatreon from using his true power.
    • You can also make Alatreon going out of his rampage mode very fast by making him fall on the ground two times with flash bombs.
    • In MHP3rd, the horns aren't surrounded by sparkles anymore. Instead, they become white.
  • During his rampage mode (see above), Alatreon will sometimes cause wind which will make hunters fall, much like Kushala Daora's wind barrier. It will happen during aerial charges.
  • If Alatreon hit one of the two ledge walls of the Sacred Land during a charge, his horns will be stuck for a few seconds.
    • At the end, he should destroy the wall, unless you make him stagger.
    • It doesn't work anymore when both horns are broken.

Black Tigrex

ELEMENT: FIRE(ON LAVA)
WEAKNESS: WATER

Black Tigrex is a darker subspecies of the original Tigrex, but boasting even more aggressiveness and destruction. Also of note are its charge using its developed limbs and blows from its powerful claws and jaw, which both boast tremendous power.
The original Tigrex usually lives in Snowy Mountains and Desert in other MH games.
The Black Tigrex is just as difficult as it appears. Its new moves include his rampage charge, at the end of which he produces one of his signature roars. Other new attacks include a fake-out charge to outsmart hunters, a lunging quickspin, and an even greater roar attack. Hunters have ample warning to evade or guard this attack, as the Black Tigrex will take a deep inhalation before performing this roar. It most often uses these attacks when enraged. Im really expecting some good armor skills in it's armor.

Jhen Moran

ELEMENT: DRAGON
WEAKNESS: THUNDER

Rare ore can be mined from these enormous dragons' backs; thus they are considered prosperity symbols. They swallow vast amounts of organic material and are always surrounded by scavenging Delex, which sailors use to locate them.
Jhen Mohran is like Lao Shan but this huge monster lives in the desert.....and you will be on a boat this time! Very exciting to fight huh??
In my opinion Jhen Moran is easier to beat than Lao Shan.

Jinouga

File:Jinouga rawr.jpg
ELEMENT: THUNDER
WEAKNESS: ICE

Jinouga  (ジンオウガ) is the flagship monster for the newly announced Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. It is also known as the Thunder Wolf Wyvern (雷狼竜). Jinouga is classified as a Fanged Wyvern Species (牙竜種), a new class of monsters that are neither Pelagus or Flying Wyvern. Jinouga has incredibly developed strong limbs, sharp fangs and claws. Its front limbs are extremely powerful and can kill prey in one brutal blow. Despite its hulking size, Jinouga is very agile and is able to perform many impressive maneuvers. The spikes on its body mostly lie straight against its body, but when it has built up an electric charge, they stand out straight into the air. If attacked enough it loses the electric charge and becomes much less aggressive and wary with its movements. This lasts until it can build up another charge. If the charge is lost, Jinouga will gather energy in order to increase its attack power. During this idling state, Jinouga becomes open to attacks. Hunters have approximately 6-7 seconds to stagger Jinouga and cancel the process. This happens in two stages, first a weaker preliminary charge, then the stronger charge. Attacking Jinouga during its second charge is risky, as it will summon large bolts of lightning after it is done charging. In short,.........THE COOLEST MONSTER TO FIGHT ! ! ! !
